Equivoque II : “Le luc renversé”

The recognizable lute belly inspired François Villon (1431-1464) in his Testament. The risqué tradition, in France as in Italy, associated buttocks with sodomy. The image is extended, in French, by the use of the palindrome luc / bottom.
